Since 1989, Random Axis Band has been entertaining wedding, corporate, public and private audiences with tremendous success. The band performs for groups just like yours tailoring the event for each audience's specific tastes and needs. With this experience we know what it takes to make your event a success. It begins with the blend of quality entertainment with the type of festivities you have in mind.

Every wedding reception is unique, however there are things we have learned over the years to help orchestrate your evening into a smooth, fun and stress-free party.

In advance of the event, we will get together with the venue director to go over staging and power requirements and load in/out procedures (see below*). If you have a wedding coordinator we will be in contact with him or her to discuss the schedule of events for your special evening. If you don't have a coordinator, we will work with you to tailor the evening to your specifics. Details such as cake cutting, toasts, bouquet and garter toss, food and beverage arrangements for the band, etc., will be detailed and planned in advance.

Random Axis Band will perform 3 hours of music over a 4 hour period. We will arrange our set and break schedules in accordance with your wishes, but have found that four, 45 minute sets with 20 minute breaks tends to work best. During breaks we will play CD's covering various styles of music choosing songs from our collection, or you may bring your own.

Your guests will arrive and enjoy cocktails and hors d'oeuvres while awaiting the bridal party. Random Axis provides the perfect blend of "dinner music" with traditional and contemporary jazz during this time.

As you and your bridal party arrive, we will have everyone seated and then announce your grand entrance. Some brides and grooms choose to do their first and second dance immediately following, while others wait and do it a little later. If the songs you have chosen for your first and second dance are not in our current repertoire, we will learn the songs specifically for your event.(**please give us at least one month advanced notice**)

Following the announcements and first dance formalities, Random Axis Band traditionally entices the audience to dance to crowd favorites from the Motown era and other songs from the 60's and 70's. Earlier music selections will be chosen to appeal to the "senior" members of your audience, while later selections (80's, 90's and today) will be aimed at a younger age group. Remember, our goal is to please everyone in attendance, and we've found this approach to be very successful. Prior to your big night, we ask that you go over our song list and let us know the songs you definitely want to hear and those you definitely DO NOT want performed.
